Breitling announced the launch of the Superocean Heritage’57 Outerknown Special Edition (Superocean Heritage’57 Outerknown). This is the third watch in collaboration with Outerknown, a sustainable clothing brand that Breitling and surfing legend Kelly Slater co-founded. Equipped with a bronze dial and brown Outerknown ECONYL® yarn NATO strap, this modern and retro marine domain watch fully demonstrates the laid-back lifestyle of Southern California and Hawaii surfing scenes in the 1950s and 1960s. The watch can be selected in classic stainless steel styles, and can also be equipped with a limited edition 18K red gold bezel, suitable for anyone who desires to shine.
The Superocean Heritage 57 Outerknown Special Edition (Superocean Heritage' 57 Outerknown) and the Superocean Heritage 57 Outerknown Limited Edition (Superocean Heritage '57 Outerknown Limited Edition) jointly celebrate the partnership between Breitling and Outerknown-Outerknown A sustainable clothing brand created by one of the Breitling Surfers Action Team members, Kelly Slater. Following the 2018 Superocean Heritage Outerknown Special Edition (Superocean Heritage Outerknown) and 2019 Superocean Outerknown Special Edition (Superocean Outerknown), this is the third cooperation between the two parties. All watch models have a joint model.
The two brands are committed to the cleanliness of the ocean and beach, and the goal of helping to maintain environmental health is fully reflected in the creation of Outerknown NATO straps. The strap is made of ECONYL® yarn made from nylon waste. In addition, the modern retro design of the watch cannot help but recall the culture of the time when Southern California and Hawaii enjoyed the sun in the 1950s and 1960s. Great music, hot cars, and the spirit of freedom pinned on the vast sandy beach and in the pursuit of perfect waves, all make that period of time-significance memorable.
Breitling CEO Georges Kern said: "We are very pleased to have established a strong partnership with Kelly and all of Outerknown. Our cooperation projects with them go beyond watchmaking and demonstrate Breitling's commitment to sustainable development. Of course, we also want to be connected with the reckless surfing lifestyle, especially to be able to work with outstanding surfers in history, which makes the cooperation between the two parties even more special!"
Kelly Slater said: “George and his Breitling team have shown that they share our passion for cleaning the ocean and beaches. Moreover, the watches made by the brand use the ECONYL® gauze watch designed by us and Breitling. The belt conveys a very good message and also symbolizes that our product development is moving in the direction of promoting a clean environment."
